President, Sara Robeson:
● Opening remarks
● Canned food drive, sponsored by STUCO runs the Sunday before Halloween through mid-November, benefiting Circle of Concern.
● Please send all newsletter items to Aleta and cc: Sara.
● Working to correct donations/tax information with the correct LPO name.
● There continues to be a blackout on class direct donations while Lancer Legacy is ongoing.
● One exception to direct donation blackout was proposed: Could open direct donations to the senior class. Junior Class moved and Mary Savacool seconded. The motion passed.
● Don’t forget corporate match opportunity. Should add paperwork and instructions to LPO website.
2nd Vice President, Aleta Harris:
● Need class director information for next week’s class newsletter.
● Communications from Class Directors and others should be sent to both lancerparentorg@gmail.com and lancerparentorgpresident@gmail.com.
Lancers Landing, Shalini Arya:
· Increased costs have prompted candy price increases in the store. The students do not like any prices with coins involved, such as $1.50. They don’t like to carry change. Look at 50 cent punches on cards.
· New spirit wear is coming in – same link.
Lancer Legacy, Amy Buckley:
· Goal: $10,000
· Parent Pay check from Rockwood District hasn’t come in yet.
· Net thus far: $7700 (does not include Parent Pay or Square fees) from 97 total donors, which is up from last year.
· Continue to promote in newsletters and on social media.
· Membership Toolkit link is coming
· Parent Pay and Square can also be used
· For corporate matching donations, checks are welcome
· Minimum $25 donation gets BuzzBook access
· Available until October
Social Media, Michelle McSpadden:
· Send text with pictures!
Volunteers, Lizanne Campbell:
· We had plenty of volunteers for Homecoming.
· Volunteers for the store are doing well at this point.
· Volunteer signups have been locked so someone cannot cancel the morning of their shift. This has caused problems in the past.
Buzz Book/Website, Martha Czymmek:
· Membership Toolkit updates have been time consuming, because of some student data questions (FERPA or incorrect grade).
· Peachjar is going away as of January. This functionality is moving to ParentSquare.
Seniors:
· Held a meeting last week and now have chairs for all events. We would still like a few co-chairs.
· Senior Celebration planning meetings are separate from other event meetings. Celebration tickets will be going on sale soon.
· Dates are coming for Senior Spirit Week.
Juniors:
· A trivia night meeting is planned for next week.
Sophomores:
· We will have the first class planning meeting for the Fun Run before Thanksgiving, with Dr. Lewis in attendance. The purpose of the meeting is to signup chairpeople, volunteers, and to work on date/time of event.
Freshmen:
· Winter Carnival planning binders are coming!
Next LPO Meeting: November 14, 7:00, LHS
