Lancer Parent Organization Executive Board Meeting

January 9, 2023

Call to Order: 7:00 p.m.

Location: Room 180

Principal’s Report, Dr. Calcaterra:

President, Sara Robeson:

●       Opening remarks

●       Curriculum Night, January 24

●       Need to push Winter Carnival on social media

●       Protocol for LPO/Lander Landing spirit wear for silent auctions

o   LPO gives $2000 each year to each class

o   LPO sells spirit wear at cost

o   Should there be a limit so we treat each grade level the same?

o   Requests should go to LPO President

o   Let’s vote on what we should do moving forward:

1.      Just donate items to each class for their silent auctions

2.      Do nothing/provide nothing

3.      Donate at cost with limit

o   Voting winner: #1 – donate items to each class. Suggestion: $50 value – perhaps a sweatshirt and hat?

 

2nd Vice President, Aleta Harris:

 

●       Deadline for next class newsletter is January 17.

●       Communications from Class Directors and others should be sent to both lancerparentorg@gmail.com and lancerparentorgpresident@gmail.com.

 

Lancer Legacy, Amy Buckley:

·         So far, we have received $500 in corporate matching funds.

Social Media, Michelle McSpadden:

·         Send text with pictures!

·         Just posted about Senior class events

·         Good to have another set of eyes (recommend LPO President or VPs) to review any flyers or information being shared on social media.

 

Volunteers, Lizanne Campbell:

·         Will send out late winter volunteer signup via SignUp Genius.

 

Seniors:

·         57 Senior Celebration tickets sold thus far.

·         Memory Maker tickets sold thus far:

o   56 Father/Daughter

o   32 Father/Son

o   68 Mother/Daughter

o   40 Mother/Son

·         Feb 1 is the next price increase

·         Memory Maker weekend is March 10 – 12, 2023 at Old Hickory Golf Club.

·         Planning to heavily promote after the first of the year.

·         Durwood Photography will handle most of the events, with an alternative photographer on one day.

 

Juniors:

·         Jr. Class Art Student Contest was held for Trivia Night promo art – Elizabeth Tremper won the logo contest.

·         Still looking for a Decorations Chair.

·         Suggested that committee check with STUCO about possibly using some of the HOCO decorations.

·         Trivia Night is February 25, 2023.

 

Sophomores:

·         Fun Run is April 30, 2023.

·         Working on volunteer signups – we have received various new volunteers within the last few days.

·         Still hoping to sign up a co-chair for the event.

·         Next meeting is Tuesday, January 10 @ 7:00.

 

Freshmen:

·         Winter Carnival is January 21, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

·         Still awaiting the permit.

·         Online advertising has started.

·         Looking for a Concessions chair.

Next LPO Meeting: February 13, 7:00, LHS
