Lancer Parent Organization Executive Board Meeting

April 10, 2023

Call to Order: 7:03 p.m.

Location: LHS Room 180

Attendees: Sara Robeson, Lizanne Campbell, April Ladner, Giovanna Lear, Aleta Harris, Stephanie Stempf, Tracy Montgomery, Beth Nelson, Shalini Arya, Jen Zeck

Minutes: 

Approval of previous minutes - 

• February and March meeting minutes were brought for approval.  The minutes were amended based on suggested changes by board members.  The amended February and March were minutes were motioned to approve by Shalini Arya, seconded by April Ladner and approved by the board

Principal’s Report, Dr. Calcaterra:

• Junior ACT on April 4 was successful
• LHS’s student led 1st International Night was a lovely success
• LHS Quadrant Volleyball Update
  • All feeder schools participating, Boys Volleyball players are officiating
  • Bracket went out today
• Monday, April 14- Choice Awards
• April 21st- Guitarfest 
• Final College Signing Day April 24th
• Special Olympics May 12th- things are in place
• May 1st-May 5th Teacher Appreciation
• May 6th- Prom- tickets are currently on sale through HomeTown Ticketing
• Dr. Matt Borzillo will be the Class of 2027 Principal and will be at LHS on April 11 as incoming 8th grade private school students tour LHS
• Dr. Tim Jones will be the principal of the Class of 2024 next year after Dr. Mehrotra’s retirement

President, Sara Robeson:

• Grant Meeting Thursday April 20th at 1:30 pm
• Slate Update
• Upcoming Events - LHS Quadrant Volleyball April 14th, Shine Together Fun Run April 30th, Special Olympics May 12th  

 

1st Vice President, Giovanna Lear:

• Open Positions
  • 2025 director, 2026 directors, 2027 directors, spiritwear, Hospitality, 2027 treasurer, 2027 fundraising
• Committee Chairs do not need to be voted on with slate

2^nd Vice President, Aleta Harris:

• Please turn in items in a timely manner.
• Communications from Class Directors and others should be sent to both lancerparentorg@gmail.com and lancerparentorgpresident@gmail.com.

 

Treasurer, Mark Masterson and Carren Rogan:

• March Budget Report was reviewed by Carren Rogan
• 2023-2024 Budget was presented and reviewed by Mark Masterson
• 2023- 2024 Budget was motioned for approval, seconded and approved by the board

 

Lancer Legacy, Amy Buckley:

• No changes

 

Social Media, Michelle McSpadden:

• Send your information with text and pictures as you want it out and Michelle will post

 

Community Outreach, April Ladner:

• Next big community event is the volleyball tournament.  Discussed volunteer needs, and concession needs

 

Seniors:

• Senior Memory Makers went really well.   Will continue to review signage needs and possibly look to find ways to continue to separate our events from the building at large
• Senior Week plans are looking good.

Juniors:

• Moving along well

Sophomores:

• Fun Run is April 30, 2023.  Need additional publicity and trying to push ticket sales
• Everything seems to be in place to go 

 

Freshmen:

• Things are going well
