Lancer Parent Organization Executive Board Meeting

Minutes:
Approval of previous minutes -
● May meeting minutes will be brought to Aug meeting
Principal’s Report, Dr. Calcaterra:
● End of school went well
● The staff enjoyed their last day luncheon hosted by LPO. After the luncheon, Dr. Calcaterra had a program recognizing teachers and staff including retirees that had special moments in it.
● Graduation was a great morning.
● There are job openings at LHS in case anyone we know might be looking. Please encourage people to apply.
President, Sara Robeson:
● Thanks to everyone for a successful year!
● Slate Update- We still have a few open positions, but are continuing to fill slots
● If you have a binder associated with your position and are not returning, please return it to the closet or pass it on to your successor
● Announced LPO meeting dates for 2023-2024 as well as highlighted school calendar dates for big events
o Discussed the Taste of County date- between Feb 12 & March 11. After discussion, decided March 11 would be the preferable date.
o Carnival - Saturday Jan 20, 2024
o Trivia Night- Saturday, Feb 24, 2024
1st Vice President, Giovanna Lear:
2nd Vice President, Aleta Harris:
● Please turn in items in a timely manner.
● Communications from Class Directors and others should be sent to both lancerparentorg@gmail.com and lancerparentorgpresident@gmail.com.
Treasurer, Mark Masterson and Carren Rogan:
● May budget numbers review
● Grants were distributed May
● Financial procedures will be reviewed over the summer and revised for clarity, accountability, and transparency
● $6000 was budgeted for Lancer Landing Distribution in the 2022-2023 budget. Carren recommends gifting the $6000 for wishlist. After discussion, it was decided $3000 would be gifted to LHS wishlist and $3000 would remain for outstanding spiritwear invoices and other expected expenditures.
Freshmen:
● Shelly overviewed the Freshman year for Jenna
Sophomores: No report
Juniors:
● Tracy and Beth have worked with Forest Hills to secure the location and are in discussions for Memory Makers
● Ampd Up has been secured for Celebration
Seniors:
● Celebration went well. Bag room/ exit was a bit of a problem- notes will be left for the Class of 2024. That process needs to be expedited and probably go back to previous procedures.
● Kids had a great time!
