Welcome/Call to Order-Giovanna Lear
The meeting was called to order at 7:03pm.
Secretary, Amy Buckley
● September 9, 2024 Minutes Approval. Jenny Champlin motioned. Elizabeth Nolan seconded. The motion carried.
Principal, Dr. Karen Calcaterra
● All sophomores will be taking the pre-ACT.
● The canned food drive and adopt-a-family will be returning soon.
● Post-season contests are beginning for athletics.
● Curriculum Night is being planned. It will be held earlier this year due to the 1st semester concluding prior to winter break.
● Community Forums are currently being held around the district.
● Red Ribbon week begins on 10/23/24. One Pill Can Kill presentations take place on 10/22/24 and 10/23/24.
President, Giovanna Lear
● Slate addendum was approved
● Class of 2024 books are closed. Working with Dr. Calcaterra to research and purchase podiums as class gift
● Canned food drive - coming soon
● Adopt a Family - coming soon
● November meeting guest speaker will be NAMI and was organized by the counseling department
● Staff directory now included in newsletter
● Class of 2028 needs to verify email address in MTK
● Presidents’ Forum report will be e-mailed out
Treasurer, Deanna Vardeman
● 23/24 taxes have been completed and filed with the IRS. Due date is 11/15/24
● As of 10/23/24, all class accounts will be opened at First Community Credit Union, and class funds transferred into their respective accounts
● We are working on closing the accounts at First Bank
● All Class Treasurers now have access to their account balances/monthly statements
● For all LPO Payment Requests/Reimbursement Requests, please complete the form on Membership Toolkit under "LPO Business" and attach a copy of the corresponding receipts
● Budget vs Actual 7/1/24-9/30/24 and LHS LPO Summary for September 2024 were distributed

● Newsletter-working with RSD to include the newsletter with Parent Square. Remember to send newsletter content to Aleta by Fridays for the following week.
● Directory/Membership Toolkit, Martha Czymmek
○ Updating MTK Directory per FERPA list
○ As of October 18, 2024 MTK database = 1602 students. 9th grade = 290,
10th grade = 419, 11th grade = 450 & 12th grade = 443
○ MTK Contacts = 241 Active & 1,106 Outdated
● Social Media (Open position, presented by Giovanna Lear)
○ Our accounts are gaining more followers. Please help to promote our accounts by liking, tagging, sharing etc.
● Website Manager - MTK, Jennifer Zeck
○ Jen Zeck has assumed the role of MTK Website Manager
● Website Manager - LHS site
○ Working with the RSD Communications Department to update the LPO pages on the Lafayette website and setting up our access to ParentSquare
VP School Community, April Ladner
● Volunteer Needs:
○ Community Event Chairs: Volleyball Challenge, Special Olympics(a Class of 2026 parent may be interested)
○ Social Media Chair
○ School Store Operations Manager, Volunteer Manager, Morning Shift Managers
● Nominating Committee
○ Work to begin Spring 2025
● Community Events
○ Homecoming Parade - all went well. Choir had a perfect score from the judges.
○ Special Olympics - Friday, April 25, 2025. Duties include coordinating concessions and parent volunteers to assist with hot dog preparation and distribution.
○ Volleyball Challenge - Friday, April 11, 2025. Duties include purchasing gift cards for winning teams and concessions and coordinating volunteer needs for the concession stand.
● Staff Appreciation
Monthly Recognition, Nicole Vandesteeg
○ Snacks provided for staff on PD Day on October 7th and were a big hit
○ Principal’s lunch will be held on October 22nd for Principal’s Month
○ Considering upcoming days and possible themes
Staff Dinners, Colleen Poling
○ Conference Dinners
Thursday, October 10, 2024 - Chipotle was provided.
Thursday, February 27, 2025 will be the next conference dinner provided by the LPO
End-of-Year Luncheon: May 23, 2025 10:30am
VP School Support, Monika Sud
● Lancer Direct Donation Campaign
○ LPO Direct Donation is active on the LPO website
○ Advertising blitz has been done on Social Media
○ $5251 had been raised as of 10/10/24
○ Flyers were handed out during conferences by Key Club and NHS volunteers
○ Any other suggestions are welcomed
● Lancer’s Landing
Inventory, Chelsea Watson
○ Continuing to evaluate our inventory pick up/drop off procedures
○ Fun Food Friday: 11/15
○ “Item of the Month” Oreo sleeves
○ Upcoming Philly Pretzel Factory dates 10/23 & 11/8
Store Operations, (Open Position)
○ Continuing to evaluate existing store policies and procedures
○ Lancers Landing will begin offering gift cards for purchase
Volunteers, (Open Position)
○ Need: Morning Shift Managers - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
○ Need: Lunch Manager - Tuesday to job-share with current Tuesday Lunch Manager
○ Inventory pick-up at Sam’s Club is going fine
● School Grants, Dawn Hagen
○ Committee will be active in Spring 2025
● Spirit Wear, Jenny Shaw & Angela Sublette
○ New items ordered
○ In-person spirit wear sales process is in place
○ Will be offering a staff discount on spirit wear. Details TBA.
Class of 2025 Directors, Tara Ference/Dawn Werk
Class of 2025 Treasurer, Nancy Riordan
● Several meetings have been held and have volunteer involvement for the upcoming Memory Maker events. Sticking with the same themes as last year and working on final details. Will continue to promote ticket sales.

■ The AMP Up contract looks to be similar as last year. Will get a contract to Giovanna for approval soon and begin booking additional activities for the event.

● Gigi Gastreich has volunteered to serve as the Co-Director
○ First meeting to be held on November 7th- awaiting confirmation of room availability from Mrs. Madden

Class of 2027 Treasurer, Jenifer Robertson
● Met on 10/8. Trivia Night Theme will be “Around the World” Working with Graphic Arts students to design logo and create content. Committee chair roles are filled.
○ Next Meeting - November 12th
○ Milk and Honey Meet & Greet went well and they will be donating 30% back to the LPO.
○ NOTE-NEW DATE Saturday, March 8, 2025 7:00 pm LHS Trivia Night

● Next Meeting scheduled for 11/18/24
● Freshman Tailgate was a success. 75-80 students attended (despite the rain) and enjoyed the pizza and prizes.
● Freshman t-shirts went out from our Class Office
● Saturday, January 25, 2025 10:00 am - 2:00 pm LHS Winter Carnival
○ Stacy will coordinate the stuffed animal collection
○ Most committees have received volunteer interest

● Proposed revisions to the LPO Bylaws were presented for discussion and review. Further edits will be made and redistributed.
