General Membership Meeting Minutes 

Monday, November 10, 2025 

Lafayette High School Room 180 

Attendees: Suzanna Ney, Monika Sud, Aleta Harris, Jennifer Zeck, Jennifer Taylor, Elizabeth Nolan, Jenny Champlin, Sara Robeson, Stacy Nagel, and Giovanna Lear. 

Welcome/Call to Order, Giovanna Lear 

- The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm. 

Secretary, Suzanna Ney 

- Jenny Champlin motioned to approve 10/13/25 meeting minutes. Aleta Harris seconded the motion.  The motion carried. 

Principal, Karen Calcaterra 

- Another successful Fall Sports season. 

- October 15th is Fall College Athletic Signing Day and College Financial Aid Session. - Two volunteer opportunities open now include LHS Canned Food Drive (deadline is November 21st) and LHS Adopt A Family (deadline is December 3rd).  

- Holiday Marketplace is scheduled for December 6th and there will be over 160 vendors. - The LPO donated podiums are on their way to the school.  

President, Giovanna Lear 

- Welcome to Suveetha Mikkili, Class of 2029 Director.  

- Welcome to Jenny Taylor, LPO Co-Treasurer. 

- LHS will host the Presidents’ Forum Coffee with the Superintendent on November 12th at 9:00 am in room 180. 

- The Membership Toolkit is the official Sign Up for all Class and LPO volunteer needs for the 2025 – 2026 school year. All class sign-ups are current and open for parents to volunteer. The early parent volunteer sign-up is working well. 

- The LHS Canned Food Drive deadline is November 21st.  

- LHS Adopt A Family: please have all items turned into the LHS Counseling Office on or before December 3rd. 

Treasurer, Deanna Vardeman 

- The October 2025 Financial Reports were included with the agenda and summarized by Giovanna Lear. - The Executive LPO Board approved the spending of $500.00 from the School Improvement Fund for Prop S. donation. 

- The Executive LPO Board approved the spending of $1,262.09 from the School Improvement Fund to purchase two podiums for LHS. $4,320.60 was the total price for both podiums, and the podiums will be delivered in December. It should be noted, the $1,262.09 amount was  

combined with the Class of 2024 $1,618.38 and Class of 2025 $1,440.16 donations. 

- The LPO Board approved the spending of $50.00 from the Grants line item to contribute to a Partners in Education (PIE) speaker that presented to the PE Mentors class. The donation was to reimburse the speaker for her gasoline expenses. It should be noted, the speaker waived her normal speaking fee. 

VP of Communications, Aleta Harris 

- Reminder to submit information weekly for the newsletter - please include a message if there is no content to submit for the week.  

- The Social Media Chair position is open. If someone is interested, please let Aleta or Giovanna know. - Directory/Membership Toolkit: 

Membership Toolkit contacts have been compared to the FERPA list and Parent Square database. 

- Website Manager – Membership Toolkit/LHS Website: 

Currently working with the Rockwood School District Communications department to update the LPO page on the LHS site. 

LPO Meeting Minutes and Financial Documents are current. 

VP of School Community, April Ladner 

- A Co-Chair for Class of 2029 Director, Spirit Wear Chair, Social Media Chair and Store Operations Manager positions are open. If someone is interested, please let April or Giovanna know. - We should engage the Nominating Committee now as there will be many LPO volunteers graduating in 2026.  

- Community Events: 

Special Olympics is scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2026, and there are already parent volunteers signed up.  

Volleyball Challenge is scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026. 

- Nominating Committee Chair:  

Open positions for the 2026 - 2027 LPO Board include President, Secretary, Treasurer, VP of Communications, VP of School Community, and VP of School Support. 

- Staff Appreciation: 

Planning a Hot Cocoa Bar for all staff in December or January. 

Upcoming Staff Conference Dinner is Thursday, February 26,2026. 

The End of School Luncheon is Friday, May 22, 2026. 

VP of School Support, Monika Sud 

- Spirit Wear Committee Chair position is open. If someone is interested, please let Monika or Giovanna know.

- Lancer Landing – Inventory/Operations Manager: 

Pretzel Day is November 11th and Fun Food Friday is November 14th. 

New strategy implemented to advertise one week in advance in the newsletter, social media, and Parent Square.  

Open Shifts: Morning Shift Lead positions remain open but have filled Tuesday and Thursdays and some Wednesday and Fridays as the Shift Leads are able to volunteer. While the Tuesday  Shift Lead is unable to work temporarily, people are volunteering to help out.  

The Substitute Sign-up List is located on the Membership Toolkit. Currently no substitutes on the list.  

- School Grants: 

The LPO Board approved the spending of $50.00 from the Grants line item to contribute to a PIE speaker that presented to the PE Mentors Class.  

Grant Update in Spring 2026. 

- Spirit Wear: 

The Spirit Wear Committee Chair(s) position is open. If someone is interested, please let Monika or Giovanna know. 

Class Updates: 

Class of 2026 Director’s Report, Elizabeth Nolan and Rhonda Shrum 

- Senior Class Parent Volunteer Sign-up is open and up to date. 

- Blink of an Eye Video Chair position is open. If you are interested, please let Elizabeth or Rhonda know. - Fall 2025 Memory Maker Events were a success and well received. All attendees had a great time. - The Spring 2026 Memory Maker Events are scheduled for March 7, 2026, which includes Mother/Special Guest and Son event and Father/Special Guest and Daughter event.  

Class of 2027 Director’s Report, Jen Adams and Jen Olds 

- Junior Class Fundraiser, Taste of West County (TOWC) event is scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2026 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm. 

- TOWC Parent Volunteer Sign-up is open. 

Class of 2028 Director’s Report, Jenny Champlin, Stacy Nagel, and Sara Robeson 

- Sophomore Class Fundraiser, Trivia Night event is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026, starting at 7:00 pm.  

- Trivia Night planning meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 17th at 7:00 pm in room 180. - Trivia Night, Parent Volunteer Sign-up is open. 

Class of 2029 Director’s Report, Suveetha Mikkili

     - Welcome, Suveetha Mikkili, Class of 2029 Director and Tara Sintek, Class of 2029 Treasurer.

- Freshman Class Fundraiser, Winter Carnival Event is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026 from  10:00 am - 2:00 pm. 

- Winter Carnival, Parent Volunteer Sign-up is open.
