The Dennis G. Glore Memorial Scholarship Fund for Hospitality students was established at the St. Louis Community Foundation by the Greater St. Louis Foodservice Industry Council (GSLFIC) in 1996 to honor the memory of Dennis G. Glore, an independent food service designer, and consultant, for the purpose of providing scholarships to needy, academically promising students attending an approved Hospitality Studies or Culinary Arts Program in the St. Louis area.  This scholarship will be awarded for the Spring 2025 semester. The amount of this scholarship varies from year to year but will be no less than $1,000. This award is non-renewable, however past recipients are encouraged to reapply.

Graybar established this scholarship to help raise the visibility of opportunities in the construction trades and remove barriers for students with financial need.The Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship will be awarded to students who will enroll full-time as undergraduate students in an accredited nonprofit two-year college or technical school program in the construction trades. Students in apprenticeship programs will also be considered. Up to 50 students will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship that is renewable for one additional year. Scholarships in memory of John Cary, former Superintendent of Schools for the Special School District, will be given to graduating students who have received services from the Special School District of St. Louis County - special education and/or technical education - and who are planning to attend a four-year college, university or trade school. For these $5,000 scholarships, the selected students will reflect the characteristics most admired by John Cary - resiliency, courage, and determination. The scholarship committee looks for evidence of future success by considering academics, leadership and community volunteer activities, and success in athletics and/or the arts. This scholarship is available to children of workers who were seriously injured or died in a work-related accident covered and compensated by workers' compensation.  A serious injury is one that led to a paid settlement or judicial award and is verified with information from the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation.  Scholarship awards are contingent on the availability of funds. The Missouri Association of Financial Aid Personnel (MASFAP), dedicated to serving students and opening avenues to access the benefits of higher education and advocating for the maintenance of high ethical standards in the financial aid profession, would like to know who is making a difference and inspiring you to fulfill your dreams of post-secondary education.  This $1,000 scholarship is open to any 2025 graduating senior from a Missouri high school planning to attend a private or public 2-or 4-year institution or vocational-technical school in Missouri in fall 2025.  This scholarship can be used for tuition, institutional fees, room and board, or books and will be paid to the school to be applied to the winner’s student account.  Additional information is available at https://stlouisgraduates.academicworks.com/opportunities/8949.

This is a $500 nonrenewable grant designed to encourage high school students to take and score well on Advanced Placement tests in mathematics and science.  Eligible applicants will have achieved two grades of three or higher on AP exams in the fields of math and/or science while attending a Missouri public high school.  Qualifying AP exams in the fields of math or science include Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics B, Physics C, and Statistics.  Eligible applicants must also receive an award under the Access Missouri Student Financial Assistance Program or the A+ Scholarship Program in the academic year in which the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant is awarded.  Students who are eligible for the Access Missouri or A+ Scholarship programs but have a calculated award amount of zero are eligible for the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant.  Please visit My Scholarship Central for additional information. ​

For information regarding qualifying scores, visit the Missouri Department of Higher Education website at Bright Flight Program. There is no application form for this scholarship. Recipients will be awarded by a transfer of funds into their account at the Missouri school they attend next fall.

The American Legion Department of Missouri, teaming with their local Post, is sponsoring the High School Oratorical Contest in order to increase students' knowledge of the Constitution of the United States, develop the ability to think and speak clearly, and to promote the rights and responsibilities of American citizenship. This year, state finalists will receive $5,000, $2,500, $2,250, and $2,000 respectively--redeemable after graduation at any college. Also, some colleges grant substantial scholarships to the participants.

Applicants must be residents of Missouri, under the age of 21, unmarried, and a descendant of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, who received an Honorable Discharge for such service. A photocopy of the veteran's DD 214, discharge, or separation notice must accompany the scholarship application. Any additional requirements for each scholarship are on the reverse side of the application. Scholarships include:

Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship - Two awards of $1,000 each are given each year. One award is given to a boy who has attended The American Legion Boys State of Missouri or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy. The second award is given to a girl who has attended The American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State program or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy.

M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Scholarship - Currently one $1,000 award is given each year, and may, by application, be extended for a second year. This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse. The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class.

Joseph J. Frank Scholarship - Five awards of $750.00 are given annually to individuals who are descendants of a veteran. Awards will be given to one boy who has attended a full session of Missouri Boys State or Missouri Cadet Patrol and one girl who has attended a full session of Missouri Girls State or Missouri Cadet Patrol. Applicants must be unmarried, under the age of 21, a current resident of the state of Missouri, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship - Two awards of $750.00 are given annually in memory of the first Missourian to serve as National Commander of The American Legion. Eligible are individuals who are currently members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of The American Legion, or a descendant of a member of any thereof. Applicants must be unmarried, a resident of Missouri, under the age of 21, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship - Two $750.00 awards are given annually to a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this past National Executive Committee member from Missouri. To be eligible, individuals must: (1) be a descendant (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university; (4) must be planning to major in education, and 5) must be used the first fall semester following graduation from high school.

Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship - One $750.00 award will be awarded, annually. (1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for the award. (2) The nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic, and leadership abilities. The nominee should be deeply involved in community and school activities. (4) Must use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. Missouri Detachment, Sons of the American Legion Scholarship - One award of $500 is given annually to a student who is a member of the Sons of the American Legion or of the Junior Auxiliary of the American Legion. The student must complete an essay on the topic “What being a member of the American Legion Family means to me.”

The Paul F. Young Memorial Scholarship Fund provides educational financial assistance to individuals who have set goals and are motivated to learn a skill set that aids them in improving their economic status. This scholarship is open to students pursuing a certificate or associate degree and will be awarded for the SPRING 2025 semester. Eligible applicants will be Missouri residents living in the city of St. Louis, or the counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Franklin, Lincoln, or Warren, have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and plan to enroll at an accredited, nonprofit, trade/technical school or two-year college in Missouri. The Progress 64 Entrepreneurial Scholarship was established by Progress 64 West, a partnership of citizens, businesses, and civic leaders. One-year scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to winning applicants for use at vocational schools or at two- and four-year colleges and universities in the upcoming academic year.  Eligible applicants must be current high school seniors who attend school in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, or St. Charles County. Regions will award a total of four (4) Quarterly Contest Prizes in each Quarterly Contest, consisting of two (2) Quarterly Contest Prizes for the Written Essay Entry Group and two (2) Quarterly Contest Prizes for the Video Essay Entry Group. Each Quarterly Contest Prize consists of a check in the amount of $8,000 made out to winner’s designated accredited college. Eligible high school seniors may apply by writing a 500-word or less essay or submitting a 3-minute or less video about an individual you know personally (who lives in your community) who has inspired you and helped you build the confidence you need to achieve your goals. These grants are available annually to children and spouses of Veterans, whose deaths or injuries were a result of combat action or were attributed to an illness that was contracted while serving in combat action, or who became 80% disabled as a result of injuries or accidents sustained in combat action since Sept. 11, 2001.  The children and spouses of Missouri resident combat veterans deployed for active duty service on or after September 11, 2001 may also be eligible if the veteran received a DD214 indicating a combat pay tax exclusion exemption, or pay for hazardous duty, imminent danger, or hostile fire.  The veteran must have been a Missouri resident when first entering the military service or at the time of death or injury.  There is no application deadline for initial applicants but since the total number of students that may receive a grant in any year is limited by statute to 25, applying early is encouraged. Wartime Veteran's Survivors Grant Program

Southeast Missouri State University and the Missouri National Guard worked together to develop a unique dynamic program that prepares young adults for leadership positions in the Missouri National Guard as well as preparation for management and leadership positions in the civilian workforce.  The program offers students a way to serve in the National Guard as future officers while going to college that will provide them with the opportunity to earn their degree and to become commissioned officers in the Missouri National Guard. Each Honors College student admitted in good standing qualifies for an Honors College enhancement. The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do this, they are offering an annual $500 scholarship to a deserving student. All student-athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they participate in. Their participation may be in any capacity, whether as a player, coach, or official. The Coolidge Scholarship is among the most generous in America: it is a full-ride scholarship that covers a student's tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study and leadership training at any accredited U.S. university.  2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship applicants must intend to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university as an undergraduate for the first time in Fall 2026. Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.  The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce 500 national winners in April. The top 20 finalists selected from the 500 national semi-finalists will be awarded $30,000 and will receive an invitation to the Leadership Weekend in Chicago. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation invites U.S. high school students to describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. The contest is open to United States high school students in grades nine through twelve attending public, private, parochial, or home schools; US students under the age of twenty enrolled in a high school correspondence/GED program; and US citizens attending schools overseas.  Each student participant must have a “nominating teacher” to review the submission and provide support and advice during the research and writing process. The first-place winner and her/his nominating teacher will be invited to receive awards at the John F. LATutors awards students who showcase their creativity and make positive impacts with a $500 Innovation in Education Scholarship. On an ongoing monthly basis, this scholarship is open to all currently enrolled high school and college students who showcase their creativity while helping those around them (whether that be in a creative fundraiser, an inventive new app, series of blog posts on a particular theme, etc.). The Princeton Prize in Race Relations recognizes and rewards high school students who have had a significant positive effect on race relations in their schools or communities through their volunteer efforts. This scholarship is open to any student currently enrolled in grades 9-12 in participating regions. Recipients of this award have stood up to intolerance, worked towards greater inclusivity, and encouraged understanding and harmony in their communities. In addition to an award of $1,000, prize recipients of the Princeton Prize in Race Relations are invited to participate in a Symposium on Race. The Ron Brown Scholar Program competitively awards 20 to 25 college scholarships annually in the amount of $40,000 ($10,000 each year) to extraordinary African-American high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship. Students must attend a four-year accredited college or university within the United States. Each year, the U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation grants $1,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited post-secondary college or university and $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited vocational or industrial school. The number of grants awarded annually will be at the discretion of the United States JCI Senate Foundation. Applicants must be U.S. citizens from accredited schools. Varsity Tutors runs a monthly $200 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt.  Visitors to the Varsity Tutors' Scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries.  The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $200 college scholarship.  Interested students can enter the contest at https://www.varsitytutors.com/college-scholarship.

Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, The Vegetarian Resource Group each year will award $30,000 in college scholarship money to graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. One award of $10,000 and four awards of $5,000 will be given. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or fowl. Vegans are vegetarians who do not use other animal products such as dairy or eggs. Entries may only be sent by students graduating from high school in Spring 2025.  Early submission is encouraged. Applicants will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, students compete for more than $1 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, "Is America Today Our Forefathers' Vision?"  The contest is open to students in grades 9-12. This scholarship competition is open to students who are seniors graduating in 2025, U.S. citizens, and who are planning careers in local, state, or federal government service. Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service, including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. APCF is excited to partner with local donors to offer scholarship programs annually to financially assist students in their pursuit of higher education. Through a competitive process, scholarship recipients are selected by a review committee based on academic merits, community involvement, leadership skills as well as a recommendation from a mentor. This Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship includes money for almost all areas of school expenses including tuition, books, fees and uniforms, along with extra costs associated with being a full-time student. To apply, students must be a high school senior or graduate between the ages of 17-23, a U.S. Citizen, and have an ACT of 22, SAT of 1000 OR an ASVAB score of 74. Students must also achieve a 175 on the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. Upon graduation, students who receive and accept the NROTC scholarship will be commissioned as second lieutenant in the USMC. Additionally, they will be required to fulfill an eight-year obligation to the USMCR (four years will be active duty). To learn more about the NROTC program, contact your local recruiter.
