Better Business Bureau® Serving Eastern & Southwest Missouri & Southern Illinois Student of Ethics Award Program recognizes high school students who personify high ethics demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity, academic accomplishments, letters of reference, and written essays. Current high school juniors (graduating in 2026) in BBB St. Louis' service area may apply. An independent panel of judges will select students to receive a scholarship of $2,500, sent on their behalf to any accredited college or trade school of their choice. Each spring, area high school seniors from low-income families who live in the Circle of Concern service area or attend school in the service area may apply through a competitive process through myscholarshipcentral.org for tuition funds for the coming school year. If awarded, students may apply for renewal scholarships for their subsequent college years. This scholarship is available to children of workers who were seriously injured or died in a work-related accident covered and compensated by workers' compensation.  A serious injury is one that led to a paid settlement or judicial award and is verified with information from the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation.  Scholarship awards are contingent on the availability of funds. This is a $500 nonrenewable grant designed to encourage high school students to take and score well on Advanced Placement tests in mathematics and science.  Eligible applicants will have achieved two grades of three or higher on AP exams in the fields of math and/or science while attending a Missouri public high school.  Qualifying AP exams in the fields of math or science include Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics B, Physics C, and Statistics.  Eligible applicants must also receive an award under the Access Missouri Student Financial Assistance Program or the A+ Scholarship Program in the academic year in which the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant is awarded.  Students who are eligible for the Access Missouri or A+ Scholarship programs but have a calculated award amount of zero are eligible for the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant.  Please visit My Scholarship Central for additional information. ​

For information regarding qualifying scores, visit the Missouri Department of Higher Education website at Bright Flight Program. There is no application form for this scholarship. Recipients will be awarded by a transfer of funds into their account at the Missouri school they attend next fall. 

This scholarship (award amounts are determined annually) is designed to assist academically talented minority and underrepresented individuals pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental course of study that will lead to employment in a field that is clearly environmentally related at a participating Missouri school including:

The Progress 64 Entrepreneurial Scholarship was established by Progress 64 West, a partnership of citizens, businesses, and civic leaders. One-year scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to winning applicants for use at vocational schools or at two- and four-year colleges and universities in the upcoming academic year.  Eligible applicants must be current high school seniors who attend school in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, or St. Charles County. The scholarships will be awarded based on their submission of an Executive Summary of a Business Plan. Regions will award a total of four (4) Quarterly Contest Prizes in each Quarterly Contest, consisting of two (2) Quarterly Contest Prizes for the Written Essay Entry Group and two (2) Quarterly Contest Prizes for the Video Essay Entry Group. Each Quarterly Contest Prize consists of a check in the amount of $8,000 made out to winner’s designated accredited college. Eligible high school seniors may apply by writing a 500-word or less essay or submitting a 3-minute or less video about an individual you know personally (who lives in your community) who has inspired you and helped you build the confidence you need to achieve your goals. These grants are available annually to children and spouses of Veterans, whose deaths or injuries were a result of combat action or were attributed to an illness that was contracted while serving in combat action, or who became 80% disabled as a result of injuries or accidents sustained in combat action since Sept. 11, 2001.  The children and spouses of Missouri resident combat veterans deployed for active duty service on or after September 11, 2001 may also be eligible if the veteran received a DD214 indicating a combat pay tax exclusion exemption, or pay for hazardous duty, imminent danger, or hostile fire.  The veteran must have been a Missouri resident when first entering the military service or at the time of death or injury.  There is no application deadline for initial applicants but since the total number of students that may receive a grant in any year is limited by statute to 25, applying early is encouraged. Wartime Veteran's Survivors Grant Program

Southeast Missouri State University and the Missouri National Guard worked together to develop a unique dynamic program that prepares young adults for leadership positions in the Missouri National Guard as well as preparation for management and leadership positions in the civilian workforce.  The program offers students a way to serve in the National Guard as future officers while going to college that will provide them with the opportunity to earn their degree and to become commissioned officers in the Missouri National Guard. To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship, incoming students should submit an online application and enroll full-time at any of these institutions for the fall 2024 term (no essay required). Final deadlines vary by school, but the early application deadline for most scholarships is June 1, 2024. Applicants have no obligation to affiliate with or join SigEp to be eligible. Each Honors College student admitted in good standing qualifies for an Honors College enhancement. In November of 2006, the University of Missouri announced the MOST Scholarship Program. 80 scholarships of $500 per year will be awarded annually – for qualifying students of families who have invested for college through Missouri’s 529 Savings Plan (MOST) and who attend one of the University of Missouri four campuses Columbia, UMKC, Missouri S&T, or UMSL).To be eligible, the student’s family would need to have participated in the MOST program on behalf of the student for a minimum of 5 years prior to the April 1 deadline for applications for scholarships for the current academic year. The American Association of State Troopers Foundation, Inc. accepts scholarship applications from the dependents of trooper members for assistance with their post-secondary education expenses. Dependents are defined as a child by natural birth, a child legally adopted, a stepchild, or a child raised as a member's own (claimed as a dependent on income tax).

For a student to be eligible, their AAST member parent must have been a member in good standing for two (2) consecutive years before the July 31 application deadline for the year the student is applying. Students can be eligible to apply each year for a total of four scholarships.

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do this, they are offering an annual $500 scholarship to a deserving student. All student-athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they participate in. Their participation may be in any capacity, whether as a player, coach, or official. The number of awards will vary each year and is at the sole discretion of the scholarship award committee. This Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship includes money for almost all areas of school expenses including tuition, books, fees and uniforms, along with extra costs associated with being a full-time student. To apply, students must be a high school senior or graduate between the ages of 17-23, a U.S. Citizen, and have an ACT of 22, SAT of 1000 OR an ASVAB score of 74. Students must also achieve a 175 on the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. Upon graduation, students who receive and accept the NROTC scholarship will be commissioned as second lieutenant in the USMC. Additionally, they will be required to fulfill an eight-year obligation to the USMCR (four years will be active duty). To learn more about the NROTC program, contact your local recruiter.
