The Special Education Foundation established this scholarship in 2025, in remembrance of Jane Vickrey, who had a strong belief in giving back to the community. On retiring, Jane served as secretary on the Board of Directors of the Special Education Foundation.  She served as the Board liaison to the Board's Fred Saigh Leadership Program, which entailed her monthly participation in all leadership activities. Scholarships in memory of John Cary, former Superintendent of Schools for the Special School District, will be given to graduating students who have received services from the Special School District of St. Louis County - special education and/or technical education - and who are planning to attend a four-year college, university, or trade school. For these $5,000 scholarships, the selected students will reflect the characteristics most admired by John Cary - resiliency, courage, and determination. This scholarship is available to children of workers who were seriously injured or died in a work-related accident covered and compensated by workers' compensation.  A serious injury is one that led to a paid settlement or judicial award and is verified with information from the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation.  Scholarship awards are contingent on the availability of funds. The Kiwanis Club of Meramec Valley Community is pleased to announce the availability of two $1,500 scholarships for seniors graduating in 2026. The scholarships are funded by the Earl Collins Foundation of the Missouri-Arkansas District of Kiwanis International. Scholarship, documented by high school transcript, Need, and Volunteerism are primary factors in determining these awards. This is a $500 nonrenewable grant designed to encourage high school students to take and score well on Advanced Placement tests in mathematics and science.  Eligible applicants will have achieved two grades of three or higher on AP exams in the fields of math and/or science while attending a Missouri public high school.  Qualifying AP exams in the fields of math or science include Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics B, Physics C, and Statistics.  Eligible applicants must also receive an award under the Access Missouri Student Financial Assistance Program or the A+ Scholarship Program in the academic year in which the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant is awarded.  Students who are eligible for the Access Missouri or A+ Scholarship programs but have a calculated award amount of zero are eligible for the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant.  Please visit My Scholarship Central for additional information. ​

The members of the Missouri Broadcasters Association are committed to encouraging the highest standards of broadcasting.  Deserving students may receive financial aid to assist them in attaining the training and expertise required to become valuable employees in Missouri’s broadcasting industry.  Each applicant must be a Missouri resident and currently attending a Missouri college, university, or accredited tech/trade school, or be a graduating high school senior who has been admitted to a Missouri institution of higher learning.  Applicants must also be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a broadcast or related curriculum that provides training and expertise applicable to a broadcast operation.  Multiple awards may be assigned each year, and the amount of the renewable scholarship will vary.  Please visit https://www.missouribroadcasters.org/careers/mba-scholarship-application/ for additional information.

Multiple scholarships are available. Applicants must be residents of Missouri, under the age of 21, unmarried, and a descendant of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, who received an Honorable Discharge for such service. A photocopy of the veteran's DD 214, discharge, or separation notice must accompany the scholarship application. Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship - Two awards of $1,000 each are given each year. One award is given to a boy who has attended The American Legion Boys State of Missouri or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy. The second award is given to a girl who has attended The American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State program or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy.

M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Scholarship - Currently one $1,000 award is given each year, and may, by application, be extended for a second year. This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse. The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class.

Joseph J. Frank Scholarship - Five awards of $750.00 are given annually to individuals who are descendants of a veteran. Awards will be given to one boy who has attended a full session of Missouri Boys State or Missouri Cadet Patrol and one girl who has attended a full session of Missouri Girls State or Missouri Cadet Patrol. Applicants must be unmarried, under the age of 21, a current resident of the state of Missouri, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship - Two awards of $750.00 are given annually in memory of the first Missourian to serve as National Commander of The American Legion. Eligible are individuals who are currently members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of The American Legion, or a descendant of a member of any thereof. Applicants must be unmarried, a resident of Missouri, under the age of 21, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship - Two $750.00 awards are given annually to a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this past National Executive Committee member from Missouri. To be eligible, individuals must: (1) be a descendant (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university; (4) must be planning to major in education, and 5) must be used the first fall semester following graduation from high school.

Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship - One $750.00 award will be awarded, annually. (1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for the award. (2) The nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic, and leadership abilities. The nominee should be deeply involved in community and school activities. (4) Must use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. Missouri Detachment, Sons of the American Legion Scholarship - One award of $500 is given annually to a student who is a member of the Sons of the American Legion or of the Junior Auxiliary of the American Legion. The student must complete an essay on the topic “What being a member of the American Legion Family means to me.”

Project 21 2026 Scholarship Program provides students with an opportunity to disseminate their message by writing an article or creating a poster or video addressing the issue of underage gambling.  Project 21 Scholarships will be awarded for 2026 as follows: One $2,500.00 First Prize, and Three $1,500.00 Second Prizes.   Additional information can be found at www.missouricasinos.org.

This scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a resident of the State of Missouri, a citizen of the United States, and planning to attend an institution of higher learning in the fall of 2026. Three scholarship awards are being offered, in the amount of $1,500 for 1st place, $1,000 for second place, and $500 for 3rd place.  The scholarships will be payable to the student's account at the college or university once enrolled.  An essay of no more than 750 words is required on a given topic. This program is open to high school seniors graduating from high schools in Missouri and planning to attend a college in any state with an education or pre-education program. Applicants must be members of Educators Rising (formerly the Future Educators Association) and rank in the top 20% of their class. This scholarship is given in recognition of overall high school record, community service activities, leadership, and golf experience. The value of the award alone or in combination with other aid shall not exceed the value of a full grant-in-aid. If you are already receiving a full collegiate scholarship, you are not eligible. This year, the MOCPA Educational Foundation will be awarding approximately $40,000 in scholarships to students who are majoring in accounting at Missouri universities/colleges. High school seniors are awarded $500, and college students $1,000 to use toward their accounting education. You will need to fill out a scholarship application, Recommendation Form, and Complimentary Student Membership Application Form. Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is a unique organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of African American Veterans whose service during World War II demonstrated to America that the criteria for responsible citizenship are character rather than ethnic origin. Each year forty, $1,500 scholarships are awarded to deserving high school seniors. Applications are considered based on academic achievement, financial need, submission of two essays, and the timely submission of the completed application. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and must be a student of an accredited high school.

These grants are available annually to children and spouses of Veterans, whose deaths or injuries were a result of combat action or were attributed to an illness that was contracted while serving in combat action, or who became 80% disabled as a result of injuries or accidents sustained in combat action since Sept. 11, 2001.  The children and spouses of Missouri resident combat veterans deployed for active duty service on or after September 11, 2001 may also be eligible if the veteran received a DD214 indicating a combat pay tax exclusion exemption, or pay for hazardous duty, imminent danger, or hostile fire.  The veteran must have been a Missouri resident when first entering the military service or at the time of death or injury.  There is no application deadline for initial applicants but since the total number of students that may receive a grant in any year is limited by statute to 25, applying early is encouraged. Wartime Veteran's Survivors Grant Program

As part of its mission to improve the human condition, the Zeta Charitable Foundation of St. Louis, Inc. has established a scholarship for young women graduating high school seniors in the St. Louis Missouri metropolitan area.  These young women must have plans to attend a four-year accredited college after graduation from high school. Applicants must be residents of St. Louis City or St. Louis County and have performed a minimum of 40 hours of community service.  Scholarships are awarded for no less than $500.  The application and additional information are available at http://www.zetafoundationstl.org/.

Missouri Baptist University has expanded its partnership with several local Chick-fil-A locations to offer top merit scholarships for their employees who attend MBU’s main campus. Eligible students can receive up to $24,000 per year in a merit scholarship. To qualify, they must be employed at one of our partner Chick-fil-A locations, meet their owner/operator's requirements, and be admitted to MBU. Interested students should apply for a position at one of the listed Chick-fil-A locations and complete this short form: https://mobap.formstack.com/forms/cfainterest. While employment is not guaranteed, MBU will notify the owner/operator that the applicant is pursuing the scholarship. In addition to the MBU award, eligible Chick-fil-A employees can also apply for the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarship, which may be stacked with MBU’s $24,000 scholarship award. MBU does not guarantee that students will receive the Remarkable Futures award, but they can apply, and many do receive it. Even if applicants do not receive the Remarkable Futures award, they will still receive MBU’s top merit of $24,000 as long as they remain employed at a participating Chick-fil-A and meet eligibility requirements. Southeast Missouri State University and the Missouri National Guard worked together to develop a unique dynamic program that prepares young adults for leadership positions in the Missouri National Guard as well as preparation for management and leadership positions in the civilian workforce.  The program offers students a way to serve in the National Guard as future officers while going to college that will provide them with the opportunity to earn their degree and to become commissioned officers in the Missouri National Guard. To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship, incoming students should submit an online application and enroll full-time at any of these institutions for the fall 2024 term (no essay required). In November of 2006, the University of Missouri announced the MOST Scholarship Program. 80 scholarships of $500 per year will be awarded annually – for qualifying students of families who have invested for college through Missouri’s 529 Savings Plan (MOST) and who attend one of the University of Missouri four campuses Columbia, UMKC, Missouri S&T, or UMSL).To be eligible, the student’s family would need to have participated in the MOST program on behalf of the student for a minimum of 5 years prior to the April 1 deadline for applications for scholarships for the current academic year. The BigSun Organization is proud to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do this, they are offering an annual $500 scholarship to a deserving student. All student-athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they participate in. Their participation may be in any capacity, whether as a player, coach, or official. The number of awards will vary each year and is at the sole discretion of the scholarship award committee. The Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. This scholarship is only open to current high school juniors. Students can apply at https://coolidgescholars.org/.  The Coolidge Foundation invites one hundred of the top Coolidge Scholarship applicants to participate in the Coolidge Senators Program, which includes an all-expenses-paid summit gathering and a $1,000 scholarship. Scholarship applicants are automatically considered for the Senators Program. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2027 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (current high school seniors are not eligible to apply). Winners may use the scholarship to pursue any academic major.

Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.  The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce 500 national winners in April 2026. The top 20 finalists selected from the 500 national semi-finalists will be awarded $30,000 and will receive an invitation to the Leadership Weekend in Chicago. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation invites U.S. high school students to describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. The contest is open to United States high school students in grades nine through twelve attending public, private, parochial, or home schools; US students under the age of twenty enrolled in a high school correspondence/GED program; and US citizens attending schools overseas.  Each student participant must have a “nominating teacher” to review the submission and provide support and advice during the research and writing process. The first-place winner and her/his nominating teacher will be invited to receive awards at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. A first-place winner receives $10,000, a second-place winner receives $3,000, three finalists receive $1,000 each, and 15 students receive honorable mentions. LATutors awards students who showcase their creativity and make positive impacts with a $500 Innovation in Education Scholarship. On an ongoing monthly basis, this scholarship is open to all currently enrolled high school and college students who showcase their creativity while helping those around them (whether that be in a creative fundraiser, an inventive new app, series of blog posts on a particular theme, etc.). The Ron Brown Scholar Program competitively awards 20 four-year, $40,000 college scholarships ($10,000 each year) to extraordinary African American high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship, and global citizenship. Students must be Black/African American, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, high school seniors, and plan to attend a four-year accredited college or university within the United States. This Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship includes money for almost all areas of school expenses including tuition, books, fees and uniforms, along with extra costs associated with being a full-time student. To apply, students must be a high school senior or graduate between the ages of 17-23, a U.S. Citizen, and have an ACT of 22, SAT of 1000 OR an ASVAB score of 74. Students must also achieve a 175 on the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. Upon graduation, students who receive and accept the NROTC scholarship will be commissioned as second lieutenant in the USMC. Additionally, they will be required to fulfill an eight-year obligation to the USMCR (four years will be active duty). To learn more about the NROTC program, contact your local recruiter.
