Scholarships

The LHS Art Department is proud to announce its annual art scholarship made possible by a generous donation from the Class of 1969. This $500 scholarship is non-renewable and open to Lafayette seniors who plan to pursue a degree in the Fine Arts or a related field and have taken a minimum of 3 high school Art classes.   To apply, fill out this Scholarship Application Form (linked) by March 13th. The winner will be announced at Senior Awards Night on April 29, 2026. 

Since graduating in 2002, four classmates have unexpectedly passed away.  The class of 2002 is proud to award four separate scholarships, in their honor, in the amount of $500 each, to four Lafayette seniors.  The scholarships are as follows:

Ryan Trigg Memorial Scholarship - awarded to a student who has participated in ROTC

Eric Gabel Memorial Scholarship - awarded to a student who has attended Rockwood schools from K-12

Bobby Maessen Memorial Scholarship - awarded to a student who exemplifies Christian values through school leadership

David Meyers Memorial Scholarship -  awarded to a student who holds a part-time job

The Lafayette Student Council proudly sponsors the Excellence in Leadership Scholarship. This scholarship will award one $1,000 scholarship to a student who has demonstrated excellence through leadership, academics, and service through Student Council. This competitive award will be decided upon by a scholarship committee. The winner will be announced at Senior Awards Night on April 29, 2026.

For over twelve years, Jay Walsh taught fifth grade at the CCL. He passed away suddenly during the 2012-2013 school year. Jay loved learning different languages, and he spoke and wrote six languages. At the CCL, he taught an in-depth morning unit on France and Kaleidoscope units on French, German, Greek, Latin, and Spanish. In memory of Jay Walsh, the CCL PTO is offering the Jay Walsh Scholarship to a Rockwood senior who has embraced foreign languages and intends to pursue a language, or languages, as part of their future endeavors.  The Jay Walsh Scholarship is a $1,000 non-renewable award.

Karen Giesler taught gifted education across various grades at the CCL for 24 years. She loved teaching about anything STEM-related and was an early adopter of teaching programming to second and third-grade students.  Her nationally recognized unit, "LASERS," was a morning unit staple for many years, and she taught too many STEM-related Kaleidoscopes to count.  It is hard to comprehend the number of student lives Karen impacted with her passion for STEM.  In memory of Karen Giesler, the CCL PTO is offering the Karen Giesler STEM Scholarship to a Rockwood senior who has intentions of pursuing a degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math).

Lafayette and our Lancer Parent Organization proudly sponsor the LHS Teacher of the Year Scholarship. This $500 scholarship is a competitive award granted to a high school senior who exemplifies what it means to be an LHS graduate and will be determined by the Lafayette Teacher of the Year committee. Applicants should be in good standing at Lafayette and planning to attend any two or four-year institution after graduation. The winner of this scholarship will be announced at Lafayette’s Senior Awards Night on April 29th, 2026.

The Lawrence Strawbridge Foundation is proud to award one or more scholarships in memory of Lawrence Strawbridge. Lawrence was involved in many activities, including Football, Wrestling, Track, and ROTC at Lafayette.  Scholarships will range from $300 to $1,000, depending on available funds and the number of eligible applicants chosen. This $1,000 scholarship was created to honor Nancy Smith, a previous LHS Journalism teacher who is beloved for her commitment to community and service. Interested applicants must be members of a service organization (i.e., StuCo, National Honor Society, Key Club, etc.) and committed to attending a trade school, college, or university in the fall of 2026.

The purpose of the College Bound Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to deserving African American high school seniors from the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Since Omicron Eta Omega Chapter’s chartering in 1984, community support of fundraising programs such as Little Miss Fashionetta,® Salute to Black Men, and the Black College Bus Tour has enabled the chapter to award numerous scholarships and book stipends to students. The College Bound Scholarship is made available through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated,® Omicron Eta Omega Chapter, and the Ivy Foundation of St. Louis.

Eligible Applicants must:

● Be an African American high school senior
● Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better
● Attend a four-year college in the 2026 fall semester

The Ameren All In Scholarship is a $10,000 renewable, annual grant for low-income students living in the service areas of Ameren Missouri or Ameren Illinois who are enrolled at any grade level in a nonprofit, 2- or 4-year accredited college or university in Missouri or Illinois. Grants are renewable for up to five years or ten semesters, and preference will be given to scholars pursuing education in the STEM fields or in the Joint Engineering Program offered by the University of Missouri – St. Louis and Washington University in St. Louis. The American Association of Blacks in Energy is a professional organization of African Americans in the energy industry. Through its Scholarship Program, AABE seeks to help increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics, and Native Americans (underrepresented minorities) in energy-related fields.  Scholarships up to $2,000 are awarded annually to outstanding college-bound high school seniors to support their academic efforts in college. The Andrew Vidal Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 to honor Andrew and his love for learning. BBB® St. Louis' Student of Ethics Awards provide a $2,500 scholarship to high school juniors who demonstrate high ethics through leadership, community service, personal integrity, and academics. The BJC Scholars Fund is intended to serve youth in pursuit of higher education from communities and surrounding areas in which BJC hospitals are located. Applicants must be current high school seniors planning to enroll in accredited, nonprofit four-year, in-state public institutions or any out-of-state school that allows in-state tuition reciprocity. This $1,000 scholarship will provide financial support for one deserving high school senior annually to encourage students to pursue degrees, and ultimately careers, in agriculture.  Applicants must be  Missouri residents, and they, their parents, or guardians must hold a current Farm Bureau membership in Missouri and be enrolling in a 4-year Missouri college or university with a declared major in an agricultural field during the Fall 2026 semester.  Additional information is available at https://mofb.org/scholarships-and-grants/charles-e-kruse/. 

Four $500 scholarships will be awarded. These scholarships are available to high school seniors living in zip codes 63005 and 63017 or attending schools that are members of the Chesterfield Regional Chamber, as well as children or grandchildren of Chesterfield Regional Chamber members. Rockwood School District is a member of the Chesterfield Chamber, so any RSD student meets this qualification. Eligible students must be in their final semester of high school, have engaged in community service, and have received a recommendation from a non-family community member (teacher, neighbor, counselor, etc...).  The application is available for download below. Each spring, area high school seniors from low-income families who live in the Circle of Concern service area or attend school in the service area may apply through a competitive process through myscholarshipcentral.org (linked) for tuition funds with awards ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 for the coming school year. The Deaconess Foundation Nursing Scholarship will provide grants of up to $15,000 to students pursuing a nursing degree. These grants are renewable through completion of a bachelor’s degree or up to ten semesters. Applicants must be permanent residents of one of the counties where Deaconess Foundation focuses its efforts (St. Louis City, St. Louis, Franklin, Jefferson, or St. Charles counties in Missouri), demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.  Additional information is available at https://stlouisgraduates.academicworks.com/opportunities/10132. 

The Dennis G. Glore Memorial Scholarship Fund for Hospitality students was established by the St. Louis Community Foundation by the Greater St. Louis Foodservice Industry Council (GSLFIC) in 1996 to honor the memory of Dennis G. Glore, an independent food service designer, and consultant, for the purpose of providing scholarships to academically promising students attending an approved Hospitality Studies or Culinary Arts Program in the St. Louis area. This award is non-renewable; however, past recipients are encouraged to reapply. Eligibility, financial need, and award amount (up to $2,500) for this scholarship program will be determined by the St. Louis Community Foundation. The Elaine M. Diggs scholarship award of up to $1,000 is given by the Saint Louis Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to support the scholastic efforts of African-American female high school seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university. Scholarships are awarded for tuition, books, or living expenses. This $2,000 renewable scholarship is open to students majoring in a medical or healthcare field who are enrolled full-time as undergraduate students in an accredited, nonprofit, four-year college or university. Each recipient will demonstrate unmet financial need at the college or university they attend in the United States. The Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship will be awarded to students who will enroll full-time as undergraduate students in an accredited nonprofit two-year college or technical school program in the construction trades. Students in apprenticeship programs will also be considered. Students will be awarded a scholarship of up to $2,500 per year ($ 1,250 per semester), renewable for up to four semesters. The HardyStrong Foundation was created in honor of Justin Hardy, a 2018 graduate of St. Charles East High School (IL), student-athlete at Washington University in St. Louis (MO), and leader who lived with extraordinary grit, positivity, and determination.  The HardyStrong Memorial Scholarship will award $1,000 scholarships, renewable for up to four years, to one or more graduating seniors who have committed to compete in athletics at the collegiate level (not receiving a full athletic scholarship from an academic institution).  Scholarship recipients will demonstrate commitment to their academics, sport, and community, and will share Justin’s grit, determination, and all-around excellence in these areas.  Additional information is available on the application, which is available for download below.

The Jewish War Veterans, Heritage Post 644, of St. Louis, Missouri, is awarding two endowed $1,000 scholarships established by families in memory of members of the Jewish War Veterans and their families.  The awards may be applied to trade or undergraduate education.  The student may submit applications to both the Chuck Sandroff Scholarship and the Ted and Rachael Pevnick Family Scholarship.  Applicants must be current high school seniors, of the Jewish faith, and have a connection to the Greater St. Louis region.

This scholarship is available to children of workers who were seriously injured or died in a work-related accident covered and compensated by workers' compensation.  A serious injury is one that led to a paid settlement or judicial award and is verified with information from the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation.  Scholarship awards are contingent on the availability of funds. The Larry Carp Memorial Scholarship will award one $5,000 scholarship, renewable for three additional undergraduate years, to a St. Louis graduating senior who is either an immigrant or a child of an immigrant to the United States, who will pursue a degree in a STEM field of study.  The recipient will demonstrate unmet financial need at a nonprofit, accredited college or university in the United States.  Preference may be given to applicants who have participated in a music program.  Please visit https://stlouisgraduates.academicworks.com/opportunities/10217 for additional information.

This is a $500 nonrenewable grant designed to encourage high school students to take and score well on Advanced Placement tests in mathematics and science.  Eligible applicants will have achieved two grades of three or higher on AP exams in the fields of math and/or science while attending a Missouri public high school.  Qualifying AP exams in the fields of math or science include Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics B, Physics C, and Statistics.  Eligible applicants must also receive an award under the Access Missouri Student Financial Assistance Program or the A+ Scholarship Program in the academic year in which the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant is awarded.  Students who are eligible for the Access Missouri or A+ Scholarship programs but have a calculated award amount of zero are eligible for the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant.  Please visit My Scholarship Central for additional information. ​

The Missouri Bankers Foundation is a philanthropic endeavor of the Missouri Bankers Association that seeks to strengthen the banking industry by preparing the next generation of Missouri banking leaders through annual scholarships of $2,000 initially, with an additional $1,000 second year award possible. Eligible Applicants must be enrolled at a college/university and seeking a degree in a banking-related field. A degree can include an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate degree. It also may include a certificate of achievement from an accredited community college for a specific banking-related certification.
The banking-related field includes a wide range of programs. Priority will be given to students with majors most closely related to finance. Students should be planning to enroll in a full-time course of study leading to a major in a field related to banking. Applicants must currently be employed at a Missouri bank for a minimum of one year, or must have completed at least 60 college credit hours and completed an internship within the past 12 months at a Missouri bank for college credit. Missouri Baptist University has expanded its partnership with several local Chick-fil-A locations to offer top merit scholarships for their employees who attend MBU’s main campus. Eligible students can receive up to $24,000 per year in a merit scholarship. To qualify, they must be employed at one of our partner Chick-fil-A locations, meet their owner/operator's requirements, and be admitted to MBU. Interested students should apply for a position at one of the listed Chick-fil-A locations and complete this short form: https://mobap.formstack.com/forms/cfainterest. While employment is not guaranteed, MBU will notify the owner/operator that the applicant is pursuing the scholarship. In addition to the MBU award, eligible Chick-fil-A employees can also apply for the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarship, which may be stacked with MBU’s $24,000 scholarship award. MBU does not guarantee that students will receive the Remarkable Futures award, but they can apply, and many do receive it. Even if applicants do not receive the Remarkable Futures award, they will still receive MBU’s top merit of $24,000 as long as they remain employed at a participating Chick-fil-A and meet eligibility requirements. For information regarding qualifying scores, visit the Missouri Department of Higher Education website at Bright Flight Program. There is no application form for this scholarship. Recipients will be awarded by a transfer of funds into their account at the Missouri school they attend next fall. 

Multiple scholarships are available. Applicants must be residents of Missouri, under the age of 21, unmarried, and a descendant of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, who received an Honorable Discharge for such service. A photocopy of the veteran's DD 214, discharge, or separation notice must accompany the scholarship application. Any additional requirements for each scholarship are on the reverse side of the application. Scholarships include:

Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship - Two awards of $1,000 each are given each year. One award is given to a boy who has attended The American Legion Boys State of Missouri or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy. The second award is given to a girl who has attended The American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State program or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy.

M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Scholarship - Currently one $1,000 award is given each year, and may, by application, be extended for a second year. This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse. The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class.

Joseph J. Frank Scholarship - Five awards of $750.00 are given annually to individuals who are descendants of a veteran. Awards will be given to one boy who has attended a full session of Missouri Boys State or Missouri Cadet Patrol and one girl who has attended a full session of Missouri Girls State or Missouri Cadet Patrol. Applicants must be unmarried, under the age of 21, a current resident of the state of Missouri, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship - Two awards of $750.00 are given annually in memory of the first Missourian to serve as National Commander of The American Legion. Eligible are individuals who are currently members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of The American Legion, or a descendant of a member of any thereof. Applicants must be unmarried, a resident of Missouri, under the age of 21, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship - Two $750.00 awards are given annually to a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this past National Executive Committee member from Missouri. To be eligible, individuals must: (1) be a descendant (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university; (4) must be planning to major in education, and 5) must be used the first fall semester following graduation from high school.

Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship - One $750.00 award will be awarded, annually. (1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for the award. (2) The nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic, and leadership abilities. The nominee should be deeply involved in community and school activities. (4) Must use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. Missouri Detachment, Sons of the American Legion Scholarship - One award of $500 is given annually to a student who is a member of the Sons of the American Legion or of the Junior Auxiliary of the American Legion. The student must complete an essay on the topic “What being a member of the American Legion Family means to me.”

Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing appropriate certification in fields related to and supportive of agriculture.  This includes, but is not limited to, Heavy Equipment Operations, Electronics, Welding, and Diesel and Farm Machinery Repair.  Applicants, their parent(s), or guardian must hold an active membership in the Missouri Farm Bureau.  Students pursuing a 4-year degree are not eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is given in recognition of overall high school record, community service activities, leadership, and golf experience. The value of the award alone or in combination with other aid shall not exceed the value of a full grant-in-aid. If you are already receiving a full collegiate scholarship, you are not eligible. The Naumovich Scholarship Fund annually awards $2,500 renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors or current college students. Applicants must be Missouri residents and plan to enroll full-time at an accredited, nonprofit, trade/technical, two-year college, or four-year college or university in the United States. These grants are available annually to children and spouses of Veterans, whose deaths or injuries were a result of combat action or were attributed to an illness that was contracted while serving in combat action, or who became 80% disabled as a result of injuries or accidents sustained in combat action since Sept. 11, 2001.  The children and spouses of Missouri resident combat veterans deployed for active duty service on or after September 11, 2001 may also be eligible if the veteran received a DD214 indicating a combat pay tax exclusion exemption, or pay for hazardous duty, imminent danger, or hostile fire.  The veteran must have been a Missouri resident when first entering the military service or at the time of death or injury.  There is no application deadline for initial applicants but since the total number of students that may receive a grant in any year is limited by statute to 25, applying early is encouraged. Wartime Veteran's Survivors Grant Program

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for 1,200 goal-driven students in the 2026 graduating class. This Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship includes money for almost all areas of school expenses including tuition, books, fees and uniforms, along with extra costs associated with being a full-time student. To apply, students must be a high school senior or graduate between the ages of 17-23, a U.S. Citizen, and have an ACT of 22, SAT of 1000 OR an ASVAB score of 74. Students must also achieve a 175 on the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. Upon graduation, students who receive and accept the NROTC scholarship will be commissioned as second lieutenant in the USMC.
