Scholarships

Each spring, area high school seniors from low-income families who live in the Circle of Concern service area or attend school in the service area may apply through a competitive process through myscholarshipcentral.org (linked) for tuition funds with awards ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 for the coming school year. If awarded, students may apply for renewal scholarships for their subsequent college years. This scholarship is available to children of workers who were seriously injured or died in a work-related accident covered and compensated by workers' compensation.  A serious injury is one that led to a paid settlement or judicial award and is verified with information from the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation.  Scholarship awards are contingent on the availability of funds. This is a $500 nonrenewable grant designed to encourage high school students to take and score well on Advanced Placement tests in mathematics and science.  Eligible applicants will have achieved two grades of three or higher on AP exams in the fields of math and/or science while attending a Missouri public high school.  Qualifying AP exams in the fields of math or science include Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics B, Physics C, and Statistics.  Eligible applicants must also receive an award under the Access Missouri Student Financial Assistance Program or the A+ Scholarship Program in the academic year in which the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant is awarded.  Students who are eligible for the Access Missouri or A+ Scholarship programs but have a calculated award amount of zero are eligible for the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant.  Please visit My Scholarship Central for additional information. ​

Missouri Baptist University has expanded its partnership with several local Chick-fil-A locations to offer top merit scholarships for their employees who attend MBU’s main campus. Eligible students can receive up to $24,000 per year in a merit scholarship. To qualify, they must be employed at one of our partner Chick-fil-A locations, meet their owner/operator's requirements, and be admitted to MBU. Interested students should apply for a position at one of the listed Chick-fil-A locations and complete this short form: https://mobap.formstack.com/forms/cfainterest. While employment is not guaranteed, MBU will notify the owner/operator that the applicant is pursuing the scholarship. In addition to the MBU award, eligible Chick-fil-A employees can also apply for the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarship, which may be stacked with MBU’s $24,000 scholarship award. MBU does not guarantee that students will receive the Remarkable Futures award, but they can apply, and many do receive it. Even if applicants do not receive the Remarkable Futures award, they will still receive MBU’s top merit of $24,000 as long as they remain employed at a participating Chick-fil-A and meet eligibility requirements. For information regarding qualifying scores, visit the Missouri Department of Higher Education website at Bright Flight Program. There is no application form for this scholarship. Recipients will be awarded by a transfer of funds into their account at the Missouri school they attend next fall. 

Regions will award a total of four (4) Quarterly Contest Prizes in each Quarterly Contest, consisting of two (2) Quarterly Contest Prizes for the Written Essay Entry Group and two (2) Quarterly Contest Prizes for the Video Essay Entry Group. Each Quarterly Contest Prize consists of a check in the amount of $8,000 made out to winner’s designated accredited college. Eligible high school seniors may apply by writing a 500-word or less essay or submitting a 3-minute or less video about an individual you know personally (who lives in your community) who has inspired you and helped you build the confidence you need to achieve your goals. To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship, incoming students should submit an online application and enroll full-time at any of these institutions for the fall 2024 term (no essay required). Final deadlines vary by school, but the early application deadline for most scholarships is June 1, 2024. Applicants have no obligation to affiliate with or join SigEp to be eligible. This resource is intended to assist with college affordability while introducing students to campus life opportunities.

The Association awards scholarships to students (including, but not limited to, current hotel employees, allied members, and tourism partners) interested in pursuing careers in the hospitality industry. SLAHA has partnered with area schools to provide scholarships to students studying within the hospitality field. Currently, the association is providing up to ten $2,500.00 scholarships. In November of 2006, the University of Missouri announced the MOST Scholarship Program. 80 scholarships of $500 per year will be awarded annually – for qualifying students of families who have invested for college through Missouri’s 529 Savings Plan (MOST) and who attend one of the University of Missouri four campuses Columbia, UMKC, Missouri S&T, or UMSL. To be eligible, the student’s family would need to have participated in the MOST program on the student's behalf for at least 5 years prior to the April 1 scholarship application deadline for the current academic year. These grants are available annually to children and spouses of Veterans, whose deaths or injuries were a result of combat action or were attributed to an illness that was contracted while serving in combat action, or who became 80% disabled as a result of injuries or accidents sustained in combat action since Sept. 11, 2001.  The children and spouses of Missouri resident combat veterans deployed for active duty service on or after September 11, 2001 may also be eligible if the veteran received a DD214 indicating a combat pay tax exclusion exemption, or pay for hazardous duty, imminent danger, or hostile fire.  The veteran must have been a Missouri resident when first entering the military service or at the time of death or injury.  There is no application deadline for initial applicants but since the total number of students that may receive a grant in any year is limited by statute to 25, applying early is encouraged. Wartime Veteran's Survivors Grant Program

This $1,000 scholarship is open to students who identify as female and are currently enrolled at a college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in the United States. Up to 9 other students may receive awards for their submissions, which may be used for tuition, academic projects, medical expenses, housing, living expenses, transportation, or other education-related costs. The American Association of State Troopers Foundation, Inc. accepts scholarship applications from the dependents of trooper members for assistance with their post-secondary education expenses. Dependents are defined as a child by natural birth, a child legally adopted, a stepchild, or a child raised as a member's own (claimed as a dependent on income tax).

For a student to be eligible, their AAST member parent must have been a member in good standing for two (2) consecutive years before the July 31 application deadline for the year the student is applying. Students can be eligible to apply each year for a total of four scholarships.

The Visionary Scholarship is a bi-annual award. There are five (5) awards given with each bi-annual deadline, with a total of ten (10) college scholarships awarded for each school year.  The application is free, and students do NOT need to demonstrate financial need to qualify. LATutors awards students who showcase their creativity and make positive impacts with a $500 Innovation in Education Scholarship. On an ongoing monthly basis, this scholarship is open to all currently enrolled high school and college students who showcase their creativity while helping those around them (whether that be in a creative fundraiser, an inventive new app, series of blog posts on a particular theme, etc.). Scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded twice each year in the Spring and Fall for both the Lindsey Vonn Foundation Enrichment and Sport Scholarships. This Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship includes money for almost all areas of school expenses including tuition, books, fees and uniforms, along with extra costs associated with being a full-time student. To apply, students must be a high school senior or graduate between the ages of 17-23, a U.S. Citizen, and have an ACT of 22, SAT of 1000 OR an ASVAB score of 74. Students must also achieve a 175 on the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. Upon graduation, students who receive and accept the NROTC scholarship will be commissioned as second lieutenant in the USMC. Additionally, they will be required to fulfill an eight-year obligation to the USMCR (four years will be active duty). To learn more about the NROTC program, contact your local recruiter.
